Donating to Projects
Most of the Tangible Love projects are tax-deductible, helping to fund long-term development or relief work. Proceeds are received and distributed through Interserve Development Limited. You’ll see this on your receipt.
Some projects may not be tax-deductible as they are focused on Christian discipleship, ministry in the local church, or non-development work like teaching the children of volunteer workers. Proceeds for this work are received and distributed through Interserve Australia Limited, also noted on your receipt.
When you donate to a mix of tax-deductible and non tax-deductible projects, your tax-deductible giving will be clearly indicated on your receipt.
Of course, it’s impossible to put a value on “Opportunity” or “Dignity”. We’ve suggested an amount for each gift based on what you might pay for similar services in Australia. However, every donation – no matter how many dollars – makes a difference to every project. And we want to make it possible for everyone to give a gift that means the most to them. That’s why, when you buy a Tangible Love gift, you have the option to use our suggested price or set your own amount. The minimum is $5. There is no maximum.

Yes, you can donate internationally. We will email your receipt to the email address provided. Please note that this site operates in Australian dollars.
All Tangible Love projects are connected with one or more Australian Interserve workers who have committed to long-term work. These folks, and the local people alongside whom they work, would love to receive your message of encouragement. We’d be glad to pass that on. Just email us at [email protected].
Apart from the funding they receive through Tangible Love projects, each Interserve worker is supported by a team of regular donors. If you would like to find out more about becoming part of a support team, please contact us.
From September 2022 onwards, gift cards will no longer be available to order with Tangible Love gifts like in the past. Christmas cards will also no longer be available.
Alternatively, donations of any amount can be made to the various projects that the gift card orders contributed to.
Payment and receipts
Tangible Love projects help resource long-term work by supporting Australian volunteer personnel in Asia, Australia and the Arab world. Most overseas-based workers are seconded to local organisations. Alongside local leaders, they work towards the outcomes that each gift describes.
92% of each donation goes to sustaining these workers. The rest covers essential services like processing payments and receipts and good governance to make sure money gets to where it needs to go.
Immediately after your payment, you will receive two emails:
- An order confirmation from Tangible Love.
- A transaction receipt from eWay, our secure payment gateway, confirming your successful payment.
Your tax receipt will be emailed to you as soon as our team has processed your donation, usually within a couple of days. Your receipt is issued by Interserve Australia Limited or Interserve Development Limited.
Receipts will be made out to the name provided on the payment and emailed to the email address given.
Yes. Tangiblelove.org.au is protected by a high security TrueBusinessID EV SSL certificate from GeoTrust. This confirms a secure connection and verifies the organisation you are dealing with, and encrypts your details when they are transmitted over the Internet.
On secure pages you will see a padlock in the lower right or upper right area of your browser window to indicate that SSL is enabled. If you can’t see the padlock, or have other concerns, please contact us.
Electronic payments are processed through eWay, one of Australia’s premier secure online payment gateways.
At the checkout you have the option to create an account. This will store your details so you don’t have to enter them again. For security reasons, we will not store your credit card details in your account.

Community Fundraising
That's up to you! The community fundraising website portal is designed to allow you to be creative in how you fundraise. We are simply facilitating a simple and secure way for your friends and networks to make online donations to a project you’re passionate about. Once you register on our community page, you can download a free How-To guide with tips and hints of how to be a successful community fundraiser. You can also reach out to us by emailing [email protected] if you have specific questions.
Here are some ideas to get started:
- Physical challenge – set a personal goal and ask people to sponsor you.
- Event fundraiser – You host an event (face-to-face or virtual!) and part of the event is collecting donations (cash or online).
- Sales fundraiser – If you are crafty or a good baker, you might simply like to make something and sell it.
Once you have decided what to do, write a little blurb about it on your fundraising page so people can see what you're doing. Remember, this page is public and is what you share with your friends. They can donate directly to you from your page.
You can read our T&Cs here. We want to ensure that people who are representing Interserve through fundraising are doing so with an understanding of who we are and what we do. Fundraising should be done in line with our vision and values, and should not be misused in any way. By choosing to use our community fundraising portal, Interserve has the responsibility to manage and process funds. We ask you to register and provide your details so that we can contact you to communicate with you about the campaign, provide resources, and provide support and feedback. You can unsubscribe from Interserve regular email updates at any time by contacting us or clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our campaign emails.
You can always choose to raise money for Interserve completely independently. However, by choosing and registering to use our online Fundraising portal, it offers a convenient and online donation platform for you to share with your networks and we will handle all the administration side of the donations and receipting, including tax-deductible receipts for your donors.
Yes, when you first set up your fundraiser you can choose one of our Tangible Love projects. The funds raised through each Tangible Love project is used to support several Interserve workers who all work towards the project outcomes in different ways.
At the moment we cannot specify a particular Interserve Partner to support with your fundraiser. However if you have something special in mind, please contact us! If you don't have a preference or if you don't mind which project your raised funds go to, select the Love Transforms project, where funds will go to support ALL Australian Interserve workers.
Your fundraising page is primarily for the purpose of collecting secure online donations. Although it is not an event page, you can certainly put some details of your event on your fundraising page. Please keep in mind however, that your fundraising page is public and so we discourage you from putting personal contact information on your page, including address and phone numbers. We suggest you create and send your own separate event invitations and include a link to your fundraising page.
Not at all! You set your own fundraising target based on what you think is achievable, and you can change it at any time. If your goal is reached, you can choose to stop your fundraising or increase the goal. Your fundraising page will stay live and able to accept donations for as long as the Project is live. Tangible Love projects will remain open indefinitely, however we reserve the right to change or remove projects at any time.
You will receive an email every time someone makes a donation to your fundraiser. This might be a great opportunity to send a quick thank you text, email, message or phone call to whoever supported you.
You can also check your fundraising page for an up-to-date total of funds donated towards your goal.
